Amusu Theatre
One of Australia's oldest operating picture theatres located in Manildra. Still screens new release films the third Saturday of every month in a nostalgic setting
In 1923, Order of Australia Medal winner Allan Tom started a regular roving picture show, screening films in all sorts of weather out of the back of a truck and set up in marques. | Soon after he opened the Amusu Theatre in Manildra. Today, this theatre is heritage listed and still operates as a movie picture theatre, using the original carbon arc projectors. | The original flooring, original curtains and even original seating, including the 'love seats' are still found there. | | New releases shown: Third Saturday of every month 7:30pm Derowie St, Manildra
