Home and Community Care Services

The Home and Community Care Service is dedicated to providing high quality services to help maintain the independent lifestyle of people who are frail aged or young people with disabilities while ever it is safe for them to remain in their own homes and who without this support are at risk of premature or inappropriate institutionalisation.

Council receives funding from the State and Federal Governments to provide a range of Home and Community Care Services.  The services provided by Council include Food Services and Neighbour Aid. Assessed need is the basis of ensuring an individual support system for all clients and support of carers receives high priority. As most service provision is volunteer based the service offers support, information and training to the 135 volunteers currently working at various jobs to assist clients.  The service provides all clients and volunteers with a bi-monthly newsletter to enable and encourage them to participate in all areas of the service provision.  There are currently 180 clients receiving various levels of support through this project.
