Development & Planning Approval
Most development requires approval and intending builders should contact Council's Environmental Services staff to check that they are operating within the legislative requiremnets.
Approvals ensure sound development is achieved without adverse impacts on the environment and the community. There are some minor types of development that do not require approval (known as 'exempt' development).
A Development Control Plan outlines exempt developments. In addition to development and building matters, Council's Environmental Services staff can assist with queries that relate to subdivision, heritage and amenity issues.
Health & Building Surveyors and Planners are available between 9am - 11am Monday - Friday by phone or appointment.
