Events Assistance Program

Groups planning to hold community events or festivals in Cabonne Shire are urged to apply for up to $5000 to help run their events.

Cabonne Council is seeking applications for its Events Assistance Program and is offering a range of grants from $5000 a year for three years for a "flagship" event to $500 for others that are being developed.

The aim of the program is to organise a calendar offering visitors and residents a range of tourism, sporting and arts activities.

Cabonne Council encourages the development of new activities and the growth of existing events.

The Events Assistance Program aims to provide an equitable means by which community organisations can access Council funds.

The main criteria for events are:

  • increasing the number of visitors to Cabonne;
  • Extending visitor's length of stay; and
  • Attracting visitors during off-peak or shoulder periods.

Not for profit organisations, incorporated associations and registered businesses are eligible to apply.

The Council is offering assistance in two funding rounds, the first closing on September 17 and the second on March 18, 2011.

Only applications received during these two funding rounds will be considered.
