The long-awaited refurbishment of the Canowindra Library and Community Home Support (CHS) building has been completed, with construction finalised and all finishing touches now in place.

CHS continues to provide essential community support, including aged care assistance, Meals on Wheels, and general council services. The refurbishment also delivers improved client and staff amenities, including a dedicated Meals on Wheels freezer and enhanced working and service environments.

The refurbished Canowindra Library is now larger, brighter, and more welcoming, offering new furniture, increased natural light, and a more functional layout. The library provides a broad range of resources, including:

  • Books and non-fiction for adults and children
  • Audio books
  • Magazines and newspapers
  • Large print materials
  • Video collections for adults and children
  • Music CDs
  • Local studies materials
  • A Ready Reference collection featuring dictionaries, encyclopaedias, general reference books, legal information, and drug info @ your library resources (not for loan)

Library staff can also assist with research and arrange inter-library loans for materials not available in the local collection.

The upgraded building now features full community access, newly constructed internal public toilets, repair of damp-related issues, and upgraded building services that meet modern standards.
