At its Ordinary Meeting on 25 May 2021, Council resolved to place the following proposal on display for public feedback.
The proposal is to rename the Hanover Creek Bridge, between Yeoval and Yullundry, in honour of Elvin Johnson, as past Mayor of Cabonne.
The request notes that "Elvin was a strong advocate for the Yeoval community and involved in almost all town organisations. Among numerous positions he held over his lifetime, he was Show President for many years.
He was an exceptional sportsman who excelled in Rugby, tennis, cricket, and golf and was instrumental in the nurturing of these clubs. He was also a great supporter of the hospital during its establishment as a community owned co-operative and then until his death."
