Mount Canobolas access roads may be closed if snow showers eventuate

Access roads to Mount Canobolas may be closed this weekend if snow showers predicted for Sunday eventuate.

Cabonne Council will close boom gates on the roads if it considers snow and ice will make the roads dangerous. This measure is to help ensure motorists are not at risk of an accident or being stranded on the mountain.

The priority is the safety of road users. It will endeavour to open the roads should conditions allow it. However, if snow or ice make conditions dangerous, the boom gates on the access roads will remain closed.

Drivers are reminded it is an offence to drive past a road-closed sign.
