Residents are advised that upgrades to the level crossings at Rutherford Road and Yuranigh Road near Molong are now underway, with works scheduled to continue through to February 2027. The project will upgrade the crossings from passive crossings with signs and road markings to active crossings with boom gates and flashing lights, improving safety for motorists and rail services.

Traffic impacts
Motorists should be aware that Rutherford Road will be closed for part of the works, with detours and traffic control in place. Increased construction vehicle movements and machinery can be expected in the area during construction. Please follow the directions of traffic controllers and allow additional travel time where required.
The upgrades are jointly funded by the Australian and NSW Governments through the Regional Level Crossing Upgrade Fund and the NSW Level Crossing Improvement Program, which are delivering safety improvements at high-priority regional level crossings across the state.
