Family Day Care

Cabonne Family Day Care has been operating in Cabonne and the surrounding areas for over 20 years. Our service is a respected and reliable child care option for local families. We provide high quality child care services and are currently rated as ‘Meeting the National Quality Standards’. Our educators offer these services from the warmth and comfort of their own homes or venues, where children’s individual development and interests are nourished.

In small groups, children will enjoy a natural approach to play and discovery, and form genuine, lasting bonds with their family day care educator, while you enjoy peace of mind knowing your child is happy and safe in a nurturing, natural and home-based environment.

Our service welcomes passionate and driven educators. We are a friendly, supportive and dynamic team that strives to ensure the mental, emotional and physical health of our educators is protected. We are always looking for more educators to join our close, enthusiastic team.

Family Day Care

Family day care is approved childcare that truly focuses on each individual child’s development, while providing high quality early learning in an educator’s own home.

In small groups, children will enjoy a natural approach to play and discovery and form genuine lasting bonds with their qualified and passionate early childhood educator, while you will enjoy peace of mind knowing your child is happy in a nurturing, natural and flexible home learning environment.

When choosing care for your child, family day care isn’t just the right choice — it’s the natural one.

How is it similar to centre based childcare?

  • Family day care provides early childhood education and care services for children across Australia.

  • Family day care operates under the same National Quality Framework (NQF) as other forms of childcare, incorporating National Regulations, National Quality Standards educational frameworks and an assessment and ratings process.

  • Parents are eligible for the Child Care Subsidy

How is it different to other forms of childcare?

  • Your child’s education and care are provided by an individual educator who is an early childhood education and care professional, operating within their own home.

  • Educators work with small groups of no more than four children under school age* at any one time.

  • Educators work with an approved service that carries out regular visits to monitor the children’s individual development and provides support.

*An educator may care for 3 additional school age children, outside of school hours

How do I enrol my child?

Step 1: Complete the wait list application. The service can then match your requested days with vacancies and forward you to an appropriate educator, if any are available.

Step 2: Contact educator and organise a time to meet them and see their environment.

Step 3: Once you have confirmed a place with an educator, you need to contact the service to be sent an online enrolment form.

Step 4: Complete enrolment paperwork and pay enrolment fee and bond.

Step 5: Once enrolment fee & bond is paid, the Principal Office will send you an 'Enrolment Confirmation' email. When you receive this email, your child is now ready to commence care. There are a few tasks to complete that will be outlined in this email, such as confirming enrolment on your Centrelink account and setting your e-Signature PIN.

How much does Family Day Care cost?

There is a $30 Enrolment Fee & $100 Bond charged per family before commencing care. This will be invoiced after the enrolment form has been received.

Educators work under a deregulated fee system where, as service operators, they set their own fees according to the services provided. Educators set hourly rates and minimum hours per day.

You may be eligible to claim Child Care Subsidy to reduce your daily fee. To find out if are eligible, please contact the Family Assistance Office on 136 150
