Council advises that the annual Boxwall deployment training will take place in Molong CBD on:
- Tuesday, 30 September
- Starting 6:30am – finishing mid-afternoon
- Location: Along the Mitchell Highway from Gidley Street to Riddell Street, including Bank Street (up to Molong Stores).
What to expect:
Driveways along the section will be blocked for most of the day – please park your vehicles on the street.
Parking will be indirectly affected in the bottom half of Bank Street during this time, and is advised to park from Molong Stores up. There will be openings between the walls to allow pedestrian access to the shops/cafes during this time.
A single lane closure on the Mitchell Highway will occur for a short period.
Some disruption in and around the CBD area.
How does Boxwall® work?
The Boxwall® is afree standing flood prevention and mitigation barrier created by connecting these barrier units together.
These L-shaped barriers act as a temporary dam preventing flood water from entering the premises. The weight of flood water on the anchoring part of the Boxwall® units keeps the barrier upright and strong.
