Level 5 Water Restrictions effective from Sunday 5 January 2020

Watering of Lawns Not Permitted
Watering of Gardens

Only with bucket or watering can each Sunday between 6pm and 8pm (daylight savings time). 

Hand-held hoses, watering systems, non-fixed sprinklers, micro-sprays, drip systems and soaker hoses not permitted at any time.

Irrigation of new turf Not Permitted
Topping up, filling of water features Not Permitted
Washing down walls or paved surfaces Not Permitted
Topping up swimming pools/spas Not Permitted
 First fill of swimming pool/spas Not Permitted
Inflatable or temporary children's pools Not Permitted 
Washing cars at home Not Permitted 
Use of evaporative air-conditioners Permitted only between 7am-midnight each day. Exemptions may be granted to aged accommodation or nursing homes
Construction industry eg. Mortar or concrete mix Permitted
Construction - wash down, paint preparation, curing etc Business must implement and comply with Water Saving Action Plan

Definitions

  • WSAP - This refers to a Water Savings Action Plan, please contact Council for more information on creating a business specific WSAP. 
  • A watering system is any automated system for the watering of lawns by any means.
  • A micro-spray irrigation system may be a manual or automatic lawn irrigation system that uses small sprays known as micro-sprays to irrigate lawn or gardens.
  • A drip system is a surface or subsurface, manual or automatic system that uses a dripper or emitter to water lawns or gardens.
  • A soaker hose is a fixed or moveable hose with a series of small openings to water lawn or gardens.
  • A non-fixed sprinkler is an above ground sprinkler that is attached to and supplied with water from a hose or similar used, automatically or manually, with or without a timer, to irrigate lawn or gardens.
