The tender for the construction of the new Cabonne Community Centre has been called, with nine companies requested to provide competitive submissions for the project.

Cabonne Council General Manager, Mr Brad Byrnes said the project is currently being tendered and will close on 11 February 2021.

The facility will include the demolition of the existing hall and the neighbouring cottage, and construction of a new community centre which will include a community hall, library and meeting rooms. “It is great to see the process underway and get one step closer to having this new facility for the local community,” Mr Byrnes said.

“The facility will provide opportunities for more functions and space for the community to come together,” Mr Byrnes said.

The construction of the Cabonne Community Centre is joint funded by Cabonne Council and the New South Wales government. The project is being managed by the Public Works Advisory.

The use of local trades and businesses has been encouraged in the tender documentation, and Council encourages any local companies interested in providing services to the project to contact the tendering companies directly. Contact details for the tenderers can be found below.

It is expected that the new facility will commence construction in April 2021.
