Stricter water restrictions come into force in Molong and Yeoval today

With water supply levels continuing to fall, stricter water restrictions cone into effect in Molong and Yeoval today (Friday 8 February 2019).

Restrictions in Molong will rise to Level 3, while Level 4 restrictions will come into effect in Yeoval, where Council provides a secondary non-potable supply.

Level 2 restrictions will remain in place in Cumnock.

Council has asked for assistance from residents in all three villages to reduce their consumption and will be monitoring water usage following the latest increase in restrictions.

Under Level 3 restrictions in Molong, the following limitations apply:

• Watering of lawns and gardens with in-ground systems and fixed sprinklers is not permitted;

• Watering of lawns and gardens with hand-held hoses, micro-sprays, drip systems and soaker hoses is permitted between 7am-9am and 6pm-8pm every second day, according to an odds and evens street number system;

(If a property has an even number, residents may water on even days of the calendar and odd street numbers on odd days. If a property has no street number, it is treated as an even number);

• Topping up and filling garden water features is permitted between 7am-9m and 6pm-7pm;

• Irrigation of new turf is permitted for one week after laying, after which Level 3 restrictions on watering lawns apply;

• Washing down walls or paved surfaces is not permitted;

• Topping up private swimming pools and spas is permitted between 7am-9am and 6pm-8pm;

• Washing cars at home is permitted on grass between 7am-9am and 6pm-8pm;

• Mobile water cartage is permitted from Council’s Depot standpipe between 7am-4pm Monday to Friday.

Under Level 4 restrictions in Yeoval, the following limitations apply:

• Watering of lawns and gardens is not permitted;

• Topping up and filling garden water features is not permitted;

• Washing down walls or paved surfaces is not permitted;

• Topping up private swimming pools and spas is not permitted;

• First fill of private swimming pools is not permitted;

• Washing cars at home is not permitted;

• Mobile water cartage is permitted from Council’s Depot standpipe between 7am-4pm Monday to Friday.
