Eugowra Show Society has received NSW Government funding of more than $170,000 for repairs and upgrades to its showground pavilion.

Nationals Duty MLC for the Orange electorate, Sam Farraway this morning announced that $172,510 will go towards a new roof, electrical repairs and upgrades to the exterior walls, doors and windows.

“Upgrading the town’s largest hall will not only benefit the showground and support community functions from balls to weddings, it will provide a safe, comfortable and appealing facility for a variety of users,” he said.

Mr Farraway joined State Member for Orange Phil Donato, Eugowra Show Society President Sean Haynes and Cabonne Deputy Mayor Jamie Jones to make the announcement at Eugowra Showground.

The funding for Eugowra is part of $16.5 million being invested state-wide through the Crown Reserves Improvement Fund to upgrade and maintain reserves and facilities on government-owned land to benefit the community and environment.

“I can’t wait to come back and see how much of a difference these much-needed upgrades will make to this facility and the community,” Mr Farraway said.

Representing Mayor Kevin Beatty, who was unable to attend the announcement, Cr Jones said the funding would not only provide a safer and more inviting facility at the showground, but enable the Eugowra community to host more events which would contribute to the town’s economy.
