Molly's Grove

Molly's Grove is a boutique olive grove located in the hamlet of Moorbel near Canowindra, traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people, in the Central West of NSW.

After five years of travelling New South Wales in search of our 'dream' rural home, in 2017 we discovered a farm that exceeded our expectations, with an added bonus of 400 olive trees! The magnificent grove was planted in 2001 by Michele and Terry Porter and was named Porters Olive Grove.

During the first two years at the grove we experienced the drought that tested the whole of the Central West. Our trees did not produce any olives but it gave us time to research and study the process of oil production. In 2020 the rains came and we started to plan for oil production. Firstly we erected fencing to divide the grove into two blocks and plan an area for the mill. Water tanks were installed to harvest the precious rain captured from the house roof. The mill was built to house an olive press, coolroom, storage racking and a bottling area for the production of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Two Shropshire Sheep became our new little babies managing the grove grasses and assisting with our farm's biodiversity.
