Access roads to Mount Canobolas closed

Access roads to Mount Canobolas have been closed following forecasts of overnight snowfalls.

The boom gates were closed at 3pm today (Friday 12 July 2019) following advice from the State Emergency Service. The roads have been closed as a precaution to help ensure motorists are not at risk of an accident or being stranded on the mountain overnight.

Cabonne Council staff will conduct an inspection tomorrow to determine when the roads can be reopened.

Council’s priority is the safety of road users. It will endeavour to open the roads should conditions allow it. However, if snow or ice make conditions dangerous, the boom gates on the access roads will remain closed.

Drivers are reminded it is an offence to drive past a road-closed sign.
