Council Approves Road Closures in Manildra to Support Industrial Expansion
Cabonne Council has approved the closure and sale of sections of Dederang, Derowie, and Carlisle Streets in Manildra to support upgrades by MSM Milling and the Manildra Group. The move will allow the companies to manage road maintenance, improve safety, and streamline operations. Public consultation raised concerns about dust from unsealed roads and property access, which Council addressed by requiring sealing under development conditions and including right-of-way easements for affected properties.
Essential Energy and NSW Resources and Energy reviewed the proposal, with no major objections. Easements for electricity infrastructure will be created, and no conflicts with existing mining exploration leases were found. The closures will reduce Council’s maintenance responsibilities and ensure continued access and infrastructure support for nearby residents.
