UPDATE:

The NSW Government is funding a $2.98 million safety upgrade at the Mitchell Highway and Thompson Road intersection between Orange and Molong.

The work will include minor road widening, replacement of existing guardrail, installation of a new road surface, and line marking and the provision of a dedicated right turn bay into Thompson Road.

From Sunday, 7 November (weather permitting), a night time detour of the Mitchell Highway via Escort Way and Peabody Road will be in place from 7PM to 6AM. Motorists should allow up to 5-10 minutes extra travel time during this work. The detour is outlined in the image.

Please keep to the adjusted speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com, or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
