Cabonne Council will be undertaking work next Wednesday (20 November 2019) to connect the Orange-Molong water pipeline to the existing pipeline downstream of Molong Creek Dam.

The connection work is part of an agreement reached by Orange City and Cabonne Councils to send water from Orange’s reserves to help Molong through the drought as an emergency measure should it be needed.

Water from the Orange reticulation network would only be accessed if the water storage in Molong Creek Dam falls to a critical level.

As part of the connection work, Council is required to shut off the main valves at the dam site to facilitate.

To avoid disruption to water supplies in Molong, the two service reservoirs in the township will be topped up before the main valves at the dam are closed.
