Disability Inclusion Action Plan Information Sessions

Cabonne Council is working alongside Blayney and Orange City Councils to build communities that are accessible, inclusive and welcoming for everyone. Our shared goal is to ensure people with disability have equal opportunities, equitable access to services and facilities, and can fully enjoy living and working in our region.

The Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) guides this work by helping councils make local programs, facilities and services as inclusive as possible. As part of the current review of the 2023–2026 DIAP, extensive community consultation has taken place, including conversations with people with disability, their families, carers and service providers to understand local priorities.

In August and September last year, Council released a Disability Inclusion Action Plan survey to gather feedback on everyday experiences, challenges and opportunities for people with disability in the Cabonne area. The survey explored accessibility in public spaces, communication needs, employment opportunities, transport issues and the safety of local infrastructure, while also inviting residents to highlight what is working well.

Council will now host a series of face‑to‑face drop‑in sessions for anyone wanting to learn more, ask questions or discuss potential accessibility improvements for inclusion in the updated plan. Together, community insights and lived‑experience feedback will help shape practical actions that support a more inclusive, accessible and supportive Cabonne for all.

Canowindra – Tuesday, 7 April, 10am–1pm at the Canowindra CHS building, 70 Gaskill Street
Molong – Thursday, 9 April, 10am–1pm at the Molong Street Stall, Bank Street
Manildra – Monday, 13 April, 10am–1pm in the main street of Manildra, Kiewa Street
